The bubbling stewpot of the Wyrmwound lit up the young Skydancer with an undulating glow as the sound of her heartbeat filled her ears. If she could get just a little closer, she thought, she could get a sample of that shimmering ooze and somebody could study it- somebody, surely, could use this essence of all disease to cure her friend. Or at least to find out once and for all what what was wrong with her... Mirage fumbled around for the flask at her hip, claws in a tenuous grip around her slick perch of bone and sinew over the Wyrmwound. She could absolutely do this. The lake was just a couple of metres below her and if she could just stretch far enough- "Hey girl!" "What's up?" Twin voices startled her, breaking her concentration, and had Mirage turning her head far too quicky in order to see behind her. The bone beneath her feet wobbled precariously. "You need a-" "-hand, or something?" Four eyes stared at her, blinking in synchronicity. Twin tails twined together as a pair of weathered wings unfurled and then, from the lake of purulence, just one body emerged. With a bolt of shock, Mirage fell headlong into the soup. ****** Mirage is cool with still being called 'Mirage', but you can call them 'Mira' and 'Genie' if you're more comfortable with that. The Wyrmwound duplicated some things and not others- it took her mind and turned it into theirs. It's confusing, and in all honesty, extra arms would have been more fun... Until the day of their happy accident, Mirage was an apprentice scout, but was never well suited to it. Their attention span has always been woefully short, and they spent more time practicing acrobatic routines than surveying the landscape. But it was never for lack of trying though, as Mirage was obsessed with Sheer even before becoming an Aberration. Back when they had to keep ten feet apart, Mirage had thought that scoutmaster Sheer was just the coolest and most mysterious dragon ever, the most poised and effortlessly dignified and enigmatic... and now, as an Aberration immune to Sheer's sickness, still thinks this. They aren't about to tell Sheer the real reason for their accident, however. The lecture about personal safety would super not be worth it. Mirage is bright and endlessly energetic, and while Sheer doesn't really understand why such a cheerful and outgoing young dragon would enjoy her company so much, she holds nothing but affection for her ex-protege.
