Many moons ago, it is said a fracture appeared across the night sky. The twinkling vista seemingly splintered into shards, revealing a great, swirling chasm of brilliant light.

Thunderous vibrations shook the earth as the chasm opened wider. A tiny, dazzling orb of light split from the chasm and began to spiral toward the trembling earth below.

As the small orb plummeted towards the ground, a stillness gripped the crisp air. Upon impact, the glowing circle of light burrowed itself far into the crust.

And for many years, the egg (as we now know it was) remained safely tucked into the earth, waiting.



The tiny creature nestled inside the egg slept soundly.

He slept and dreamed of light and constellations…of the infinite cosmos from which he came.



As the eve of the one-hundredth night of the great chasm arrived, he awoke. He fought to break away from his egg, talons stretching forth with effort until finally, he was free.

Instinct whispered from within.

Awed eyes looked upon the new world, glowing with all of the wisdom of the galaxies above. He stretched star-dusted wings out toward the glittering sky, and flew.



The exact age of Orion is unknown. It is rather difficult to quantify a being who was once catapulted through the cosmos. He’s existed as long as Sornieth has had a name…incubating within the crust until the dawn of his birth.

He spends his days sleeping soundly, seeking refuge from the sun above. By night, he occupies the inky blackness. Drifting through the sky, flitting between constellations and gathering information on new star clusters. Knowledge is his greatest passion. He hopes one day to map out a previously undiscovered galaxy, and for his wings to be the first to flutter against the bright, swirling lights within it.

His partner is the beautiful and mysterious Cassiopeia, and together they soar across the night sky seeking new discoveries.
