Fumpis

Chapter 1: Creation
As her siblings swam away to find their new homes, Fumpis felt scared. She had always known both the land and the sea, and did not know how she could choose just one. She looked around at the beach she grew up on. Nobody else laid claim here, and she saw no reason to leave. She decided she would remain on the beach, and go between the land and the sea as she pleased. She laughed to herself, and felt very clever that she had realized she could just claim the place that she already lived, without abandoning either the land or the water. She could do whatever she wanted, playing in either whenever she chose. Her pride in her mind and her emotions towards her home summoned Narri to her. Narri saw that Fumpis had claimed the beach when none other had thought to do so, and found a third option when only two seemed obvious, and bestowed her with domain over all the places where the land meets the sea, and all the times that a choice must be made. Fumpis became the First Decider, and remains the symbol of beaches, judges, and compromise.
