ABOUT.
When Okage was a hatchling, all four of her siblings tried to kill her. Runts don't live long in their ruthless, starving family--even her siblings who didn't feel hunger joined in so that those who did would not murder and devour them instead.

Okage was a runt. Okage wanted to live.

She clawed out her eldest sister's eye, maimed her second brother's foreleg, and bit so hard and so deep into her middle sibling's wing that the bone almost snapped clean through. They left her alone after that, even treating her with grudging respect. She'd earned her survival.

It was the first time Okage had to fight for her life. It will not be the last.

IMPRESSIONS.
A faint odour of blood hangs around her like a miasma. Over the years, Okage has grown used to hiding her cards and you would be hard-pressed to find a crack in her resolve. Her gaunt face is always stony--she'd make a great spy or at least a good cheat.

PAST.
Children of the endless hunger and the eternal fast often have appetites that far exceed what is expected of their slender frames and gaunt faces.

Those who are not cursed with a bottomless pit for a stomach are the lucky ones, though they learn very quickly that they cannot trust their own siblings to keep their mouths shut and their hunger abated. Fortunately, all become very efficient hunters, if not for necessity then for self-preservation.

Even with the precautions and measures their parents take-- well. Instinct is a fickle creature. Hunger is an unpredictable one.

There are no surviving runts borne of the union between Charion and Alderrim. They have never lived to maturity.
