Amber is best defined as "quixotic" - he is at once idealistic, cheerful, and energetic. He takes great joy in hunting and flying, and is a familiar enthusiast, solidifying their status as the Theatre Company's animal ringmaster (which is to say, he directs all performances involving animals). More than anything else, he enjoys helping people out on whatever they're struggling with, to varying degrees of success. Despite his joyful behaviour, however, he is far from childish, and is a lot more no-nonsense than he lets on.

Of all of the Theatre Company's members, Amber is one of its stranger additions. Having begun her adult life as a flight instructor, she had assumed that after a few months, she would move on to serve the Plaguebringer or another clan. Yet the Faceless Monarch had other plans, and roped her into matters much larger than herself. When the Faceless Monarch was imprisoned, Director Orthen simply did not ask her to leave, and before she knew it, she was an official member of the Theatre Company.

Though Amber was an unexpected and unknown addition to the Theatre Company, she fit in seamlessly with the rest of its members. She wants to be close friends with Aleksander, though unfortunately, he rarely has the time to interact at length. She also admires Athena, and desperately wishes to be friends with the withdrawn Ridgeback.
