Interflight Courier | Devout Wind Flighter | Unhealthy Obession with Flight
Originally a Skydancer from the Swirling Cresendo, Squash made the mistake of angering a nasty Arcane Flighter at one point in his life who in turn cursed him to take away that which he loved the most; flying. His body morphed beyond recognition, he was turned from a once plumed, light boned dragon who graced the sky with his presence to a land bound Snapper, a fate so dire he considered taking his own life on multiple occasions. Fumbling through life, Squash was found at the brink of death close to Snow Globe and brought in for recovery, a fate he cursed at first almost as much as much as his current state of being. Finding his despair disheartening, Kakortok asked him to stay in the village, hoping for the Snapper to take up the job of courier, their old Lighting Flight native having left the job to move to a different clan after having decided to retire and go back to his clan of origin. Assuming he was being offended, Squash raged in the beginning, questioning the Coatl's sense of humor at asking a land bound dragon to become the interflight delivery dragon. It wasn't until Kakortok explained the situation and showed him the contraption his old courier had left that the once Skydancer understood his odd request. Understanding that the job was only his if he understood how the flying vehicle left behind worked the Snapper agreed to the the job, determined to get himself back into the sky no matter what. Through perseverance and stubbornness Squash eventually understood how the fly the contraption, and he was soon after making deliveries left and right, making sure to get everything on time to be able to take on another task as quickly as possible and therefore stay in the air for as long as the craft allowed. Unfortunately the craft only gave him the taste he needed to become fully obsessed with being able to fly once more. Finding out who the Lighting engineer who had created the craft was, he soon tracked him down and agreed to allow experiments to be done on him in order to achieve flight once more. His body becoming slightly more mechanical every day along with certain machineries that help keep his body fueled, Squash vows to fly one day with his own two wings again, but through it all he has remained eternally grateful to Kakortok, the dragon who opened the skies to him once more. |
