B I O G R A P H Y

Cadfael was born into the domain of the Tangled wood, small and timid. He was gentle from the start, shying away from any playfight, or the ways hatchlings were normally raised in his clan. He'd instead hide away in the folds of fabric, accompanying his father on expeditions, and other such things. Cadfael was looking to turn out into a gentle dragon, straying from battle and war, focusing on other things. Yet... in a strike of unluckiness, his claws lose traction in the pelt of his father, and he tumbles into the underbrush and thorns of the Shadowbinder's domain.

Lost, confused, and scared, Cadfael began to search for his father, hoping he may come back for him. It wasn't long before he grew hungry, the instincts of a wildclaw that he had never allowed to flourish finally bearing it's teeth and he still refused them. His pelt didn't help him hunt anyways, cream fur sticking out clearly among the darker scenery, allowing prey to see him before he even saw them. He continued like this for what seemed like days, until a clan of wandering dragons found him out there, cold and alone. They played kind, and nice, lured Cadfael in closer, promising to take him to his father until they grabbed him roughly. Their claws dug in, and Cadfael yowled, trying to get away. A feeling in his entire body grew fast and fierce and cold until his vision went dark.

Cadfael woke up among corpses. The blood staining his fur made him fearful, but it soon faded. What place for fear was there in such a cruel, cruel world? His father never came for him. Those dragons had no good intention. His timidity gave way to violence, and anger. He began to wander, pursuing... revenge. He soon wandered into the Viridian labyrinth, where his fur could blend in semi-easier. He hunted, and he made sure others felt fear, until the hunt was turned around. A large Gaoler cornered him one day, when he was larger, growing into his power. He hissed, and fought, but the Gaoler was stronger and something about him...didn't feel right. Injured, he was dragged back to Fenrisulfur, where the royal family was introduced to him. In him, Cri saw something. He saw something very familiar. Cri bowed his head, and welcomed Cadfael into the royal family.

_CURRENT_

____Cadfael resides in the Royal Family, living a life of luxury and pleasures in a lush city. He is the last one considered for the throne, but believes he should be the first, as his power outmatches even Alcove. He and Alcove do not get along as such, often at each other's throats. Cadfael holds back no comments about Alcove, having no filter on what he will say to the other. Alcove returns his words with the same venom.

____He holds the same view on war that Cri does, but it's unclear if he arrived like that or if time around the Fae has warped an already fractures view into worse. War is what allows a clan to survive. A clan cannot live without war. Pacifists are trampled and forgotten. Survival of the fittest. Fenrisulfur will be the fittest. All of these are views which Cadfael has, shared by the leader of Fenrisulfur. Cadfael accompanies him to meetings and talks of strategy, in battle, and lives a life of luxury and pleasure. Cadfael never knew if his father searched, or even cared. His father is not his father anymore, his father is Cri, Warmonger. Deathbringer. Cadfael spends his days weaving songs of destruction, and ignoring his origins.

_PERSONALITY_

____Cadfael is ambitious, first and foremost. He knows no bounds, no stops, only the hunger to win. The hunger for power. No matter who he needs to topple, no matter who he needs to slaughter, Cadfael sees to it that he wins. Blood means nothing to him, as seen in how he treats Emrys. The ties of a clan mean nothing to him, seen in how he treats so many of the others from his past clan. He cares for himself, and Cri, but more himself. He's been described many a time as hard to get along with.

____He has the quality of fighting to the very bitter end, and in his body is stored so much power, as seen unleashed on the clan. He has no problem blowing up at others if they threaten him, and knows how to fight well, mostly self-taught. He sees others as below him, no matter who they are. Even the generals and royal staff he see as mere weaklings, to use to his benefit. Even his siblings. Haruko is exempt, as his closeness to Cri is something that Cadfael realizes is good for a dragon. To have someone at your beck and call, willing to die for you. He fails to realize it is two-sided, only the subserviant nature of his father's relationship.
