Growing up, Fluffer lived in a large mansion surrounded by lush forests and brilliant rivers. Her parents bought her anything she could have ever wanted, but still she found herself feeling unwanted at the end of the day. During the few times her parents weren't working, her fur was conditioned to make sure her coat gleamed perfectly. Fluffer grew to hate this and plucked her own fur out of her skin when she was left alone.

Fluffer had always felt a strong pull towards bread, both edible and exchangeable. Her love for bread started when she was young, her parents frequently took her to the market to buy high quality bread. As her parents grew busy and distant, Fluffer would steal bread from the same markets that once brought her joy. She would bring her stolen goods to her backyard to store them, but caterpillars would feast on her leftovers.

Eventually this turned into Fluffer fostering the caterpillars. Everyday she would steal bread then feed it to the growing larvae. She built a sanctuary that spanned 6 meters across her yard to watch them, somehow never being noticed by her parents. Over time she began questioning her morals; Fluffer did not understand why she felt the need to steal when her parents were very rich. A bubble of guilt trapped her like she was in chrysalis, and she decided that she needed to make amends with the baker.

She took ten thousand gold from her parents' safe and walked to the markets; she expressed how sorry she was for the harm caused and was forgiven by the bread shopkeeper. Despite repaying the owner, she still walked home with her head held low. When she got back to her sanctuary, all of the caterpillars she had been fostering were about to turn into butterflies. Fluffer marveled as they broke out of their chrysalises, patiently waiting for their wings to dry before flitting away; with this she realized, she too was ready to blossom.
