Biography

Nafisa
| Witch | Alchemist |

With her ragged wings, boils, and her chosen apparel, Nafisa is easily one of the most intimidating dragons in the clan. The birdskull headdress combined with her hood rarely allows one to get a good look on her face and expressions, and leaves only a view of her eyes. Her hood and cape leaves little view of her body, shielding everyone from viewing most of her boils and discoloration. She's quiet and likes to keep to herself, being most active at night and hiding herself from other dragons during the day. This and the way she seems to slink around the shadows when she has to mobilize herself during the day seems to paint her as a shady sort of character. It doesn't help that she's a witch, dealing with ancient spells and enchantments, and studies some remarkably dark books, ancient tomes with moth-eaten covers and macabre images sketched into the pages.

Even her den seems shady. The outside seems simple enough; living in an small cavern she found when the clan settled, the outside is surrounded by a few species of plants (maintained with the help of the gardeners), and plenty of mushrooms. The only outside decorum Nafisa placed at the entrance to mark the place as hers are a few brown birdskulls wrapped around a long-since dead tree near the entrance. However, the inside of the cavern is what makes most dragons blanch at the thought of having to visit her. If you would be brave enough to step into her chambers, the first thing you would notice is the dim lighting inside, not provided by lamps or lanterns as one would expect, but by mushrooms, brought from the Tangled Wood, placed carefully by the stalagmites. In shelves carved into the caves, there are different jars of different things; preserved species, mostly insects like spiders, scorpions and the like, but don't be surprised to see something that looks strangely like an organ. And don't ask what it is. Sometimes, it's better not knowing.

As mentioned before, Nafisa is a quiet dragon. She prefers to keep to herself, and isn't particularly good and making conversation, answering with as few syllables as she can. She doesn't have many friends, and even her family prefer to give her a wide berth. She doesn't mind it much, though. She stopped minding it a long time ago. Instead of spending her time talking to other dragons, she spends her time in her den, poring over her books, practicing her alchemy, and trying to reproduce the spells and potions she sees in her books. This is something that she's liked doing since she was a young dragon.

She's always had a morbid fascination with the dark and the occult. That had always set her apart from the rest of the dragons, who would see the kinds of books she liked to read and shied away from her. But she wasn't always so lonely. She'd had her acquaintances when she was younger, though she'd always been considered as part of the "weirdoes" of the clan (next to Amaryth and, to a lesser extent, Tasmos). However, during her first Riot of Rot, she decided to visit the Scarred Wasteland.
