LORE

X25T was born into chaos. He had no parents to look after him. Organization lab workers had grown him in a test tube in their attempts to gain Allison’s powers. As a result, X25T was tested as soon as he was old enough to use magic, if he had any. He was put through various rigorous tests, only for the lab workers to find they had failed once more; X25T had no magic.

Normally this would mean death to the subject, but X25T was strong and without defects. He also was not violent like some of the other subjects, but rather was quiet and obedient, so he still had his uses, however fleeting. He was used by the lab workers to do mundane tasks, normally involving cleaning or running errands.

X25T did this without complaint, as he knew he would be killed without question or remorse if he did, and he wanted to live. He dreamed of being something more, something better than a servant who was thrown around and loved by nobody.

Years of his meaningless life passed, and one day, his dreams were shattered. X25T was given news that he would be participating in that year’s Rifter Games. He broke down, sobbing and in shock as he was led to a cell for holding. He had never been difficult before, but with news like this, The Organization would take no chances on him escaping.

X25T was in shock about the news, doing nothing up until the day he was to enter the games. He hadn’t moved from his bed, wallowing in pity and coming to terms with his fate. He knew he’d never survive, and accepted he would die. He did, however, vow that he would at least try to live, fighting until the very end. With this, he went off into the games.

A few weeks later, X25T found himself walking out of the arena, the victor of the games. He was covered in a combination of dirt, sweat, and blood. Some blood was his own, but some was from others. He had hidden as much as he could, trying to avoid the other competitors, but, inevitably, he had to fight. To fight, and to kill.

He walked through the next month of his life a shell of himself, horrified at his actions in the arena. Eventually, he was able to tell himself that it was okay. That he’d done these things only to survive. He’d be dead and in the ground somewhere with all the others, so killing someone to save himself wasn’t so bad.

More years and more games went by. Somewhere along the way, fighting and winning in more games, X25T began to call himself Celadon, and it stuck. He had become a fan favorite, especially because the years of fighting for his life had changed him. The scared little boy who hid from others and only killed when he had to was gone. Now, he was a ruthless hunter, tracking down his enemies and killing them brutally.

Nobody knew the real Celadon, only the mask of himself he showed for the games. He still despised killing, and only did it to survive. The brutality behind it was simply a part of the ruse, a show for his audience. He knew it would give him better chances at survival, more supporters to send him supplies. But deep down, where nobody could see, the real Celadon still had dreams of escaping this life. They had changed drastically from the time he was a child, but he still had them. He wanted the endless bloodshed to end, and to find a better purpose for his life. He no longer wanted to be a show pony for people to watch and enjoy. He held out hope that, one day, he’d find the escape he was looking for…
