If you happen to come upon the lair during October, you're more than likely going to see Harlow doing his duty and happily sharing his treasures with other dragons. |

Harlow always adored the changing of the seasons. The warm glow of the sunset and how its golden light radiated from tree to tree, as if the leaves themselves had absorbed the golden sun. The scurry of rodents and birds, as they quickly took stock of their belongings before the winter hibernation. The gentle breeze that carried acorns and leaves that crackled with amusement when hatchlings sneezed. The comfort of warm soup or pumpkin carving among friends or family, whomever you choose. It was such a time around his first birthday, that he realized that he, too, should change like the leaves around him. His born colors fit for Halloween, but he always felt like the dragon in the mirror did not look like how he felt about himself. Despite the cost, he did his best to scrounge up enough gems to finally gain a scatterscroll. The possibility and excitement made his heart start to race. At last, he took the plunge. In a rush of mist, the scroll vanished before him. He blinked from the rising magic, but when he opened his eyes again, he was surprised and satisfied with the appearance bestowed upon him. Darker than he expected, perhaps, but in the scrying pool he saw many paths that could be chosen. Happy, he left the scrying pool with a straighter back and frills raised high. Carried along on the autumnal breeze, he felt as if it could take him anywhere he wanted. |
