Born to a family of travelling mercenaries, Moriah had a gift with archery from a young age. He became a trick shot and master archer fairly early in life, and put his talents to use as a hired bow. Though he liked travelling, he wasn't a fan of the mercenary life and felt he was a dragon who stood for nothing. When he met his now-boyfriend Alcor quite by accident, he decided quickly to join him on his travels, and the two now serve as members of Home's guard.
- Biography
Despite being born to a family of mercenaries, Moriah's early life was quite sheltered. He made money for his family by doing trick shooting performances, and as an adult, he was in for a shock when he actually became a hired bow himself. He didn't like being a dragon who had no real moral compass, and he chose to change that as soon as he could, joining up with Alcor as soon as the opportunity presented itself. He often seems like a dragon who just rolls with the punches, but Moriah is finally proud of where he is in his life, and is determined to protect his home at all costs.
- Life at Home
Distant and difficult to get to know, Moriah is often quiet and rarely goes out of his way to speak to dragons he doesn't already know. He also struggles to read a room, often failing to pick up on a somber tone, and has a sassy, dry sense of humor that doesn't go over well with some dragons. However, Moriah is quietly reliable, in his own way, and his typically cheerful personality is usually welcome pretty much everywhere. Alcor often helps him out, encouraging Moriah to say that the pair only show up at social functions because Alcor wanted to come to help ease Moriah's fear of underperforming in social situations. This tendency has led to some dragons around Home speculating on whether Alcor is even actually a stubborn dragon at all (he is).
- Relationships
A quiet, aloof dragon by nature, Moriah rarely lets on to how he feels about other dragons, and his sassy streak means he can easily make other dragons think he dislikes them. Held in high respect by his colleagues thanks to his skill and reliable nature, Home's students love watching his archery practice and generally regard him as a larger-than-life figure. Moriah can usually be found at Alcor's side, and even learned the native Aberration language so that the two can talk privately in public. He's unshakingly loyal and willing to stand up for the dragons he cares about despite his distant demeanor. Alcor tells a story about how he thought Moriah hated him for months until, when they stopped at a seedy tavern for the night, another dragon threatened Alcor and Moriah had his bow pulled on the other dragon before he could even finish his threat.
- Personality
Typically light-hearted and cheerful despite his cool and reserved nature, Moriah is usually smiling, even when he's having a tough time, and very rarely lets other dragons see him upset. He often avoids extreme displays of emotion and makes jokes to relieve tension or awkwardness, and sometimes he allows those jokes to go a bit far for the sake of his own amusement. He never does this with anything actually harmful - Alcor's favorite example is how Moriah convinced him that he couldn't carry anything too heavy because Skydancers have "fragile hollow bones" and allowed this grift to continue until they arrived at Home and he was called out on it. Moriah loves and looks out for the dragons he cares about, but he's also probably going to be a little sassy and annoying while he's at it. And he's fine with that.
