Lineage

Biography

Stone Fertility Statue
Flurry is a very strong dragon, who has been witnessed lifting multiple hatchlings and giving them piggyback rides in the sky. He has to be strong, otherwise he wouldn't be a good babysitter. His job is to keep the hatchlings safe from predators and enemy dragons, as well as enrich them and teach them how to function as a dragon. He also has told tales of some rather difficult hatchlings, particularly those who are mere weeks away from leaving the nursery. They tend to get very restless and excited, and they also get a bit of an attitude.
This is why Flurry's job is among the most respected of the clan, below King and Queen.

Flurry's Secret Alchemy Documentation

Day 1 - An Idea?

I've always known myself to be a curious dragon. Always exploring as a hatchling. Of course, my love for exploring and learning new things has its advantages. It also has made me very popular with all the hatchlings, always willing to test new games and ideas with them. I'd read every book I could get my claws on, and I'd asked all the questions I could. I thought I'd learned all I could've possibly learned.

I was wrong.

Recently I'd picked up a book outside of clan boundaries. It was covered in dust, pages brown and slightly tattered, with no protective cover, and of course no title. Just the word 'ALCHEMY' was embossed in silvery letters on the spine of the book, and multiple scratch marks all over. Of course, being curious as always, I opened the book and began to read. I had expected a few chapters of somebody's notes on the art of alchemy, an entirely experimental subject in our clan. But what I got was something much more interesting - and confusing.

It was just page after page full of strange diagrams and odd indecipherable writings, and drawings. Lots of them. Old runes, messy sketches of what appeared to be random and completely useless objects and many more things. I had flipped through the pages, my confusion growing with every new drawing my eyes laid upon. Trying to understand what was being said in the old pages had made my brain ache, so I put the book down and went to my bed to try and rest.

But I just couldn't. I lay awake that night, tossing and turning, unable to succumb to slumber and forget the ancient notes. I'd never left a single question I'd had unanswered, and all these questions in my head bothered me. Question after question swirled in my mind, and no answer came to soothe the swirling thoughts. I needed answers, and I needed them soon.

So, earlier today, I set out on an adventure. With the pouch full of gold from the clan Vault, I scrounged the Realm's largest auctions for materials. I picked up many odd items, some including bones swirling in the iridescent liquid inside of glass jars, and many colorful minerals. As I write these words, in the dead of the night, I am brewing a few shards of Celestine. I'm curious as to what they'll create.

Why must I do this in the dreadful night hours, one might ask. Surely I could've just set up my brews in broad daylight and begun my experimentation?

I'm afraid if I did that, I'd be stopped in my tracks, and my experiments would've ended before I could properly start. Our queen, Ebonystar, is not fond of the art of Alchemy, hence why it is never practiced in our clan. Before she became queen, we had our fair share of dragons knowledgeable on the subject. But she banished most of them and forced the remaining ones to never speak, share, or practice alchemy ever again. Nobody knows why she did it, but it is beyond our power to question her motives. It surprised us all, considering her own parents were praised Alchemists before they disappeared mysteriously.

I mean no disrespect to our queen. She is, after all, a highly skilled warrior, and a great leader with a mind of stone and a kind heart. Even if her way of rule is questionable at best. If she found out I had used clan money to fund my Alchemy journey, who knows what would become of me...
