Grim

Grim is one of the founders of the garden. As the story goes, he was orphaned and wandering near the Pox Consulate when he sensed an unusual swell of nature magic. (It's a talent of his to pick apart magework by feel alone.) He followed his nose all the way to the clan's nesting tree, still a mere sapling, with a frazzled Cedar taking measurements and muttering about root density. She remained totally unaware of his presence until he stepped on her tail.

A rocky start to what became a beautiful friendship.

The two bonded over caring for the young tree with such strange magic. Grim had never studied formally, but he was more observant than most dragons, and this strange little Fae was always willing to listen to his ideas. He found he liked having plentiful food and interesting company, and decided the garden was as good a place as any to settle down.

As the tree grew under their watchful eyes, so too a clan began to grow.

Grim spends most days patrolling the grounds, lending his strength to researchers more suited to magic than lifting heavy objects. He's one of the most powerful dragons in the clan and always ready to defend the land and its inhabitants. Newcomers may be surprised by his offhand, incisive comments, but the old hands know better: if you have a research problem, talk to Grim. You'll have your breakthrough by dinner.
