Biography
“We have made...a rather remarkable discovery as it were, though I’m glad to have a short respite from the depth and dark of the Breach,” quipped Velya, pulling her shawl closer around herself as if against a chill.
Aleros poured steaming tea into the delicate cup in her claws. His bright gaze was even and sparkled with intensity. “Go on.”
“It was the strangest sight. The Earthshaker’s breath….awakened the very carved stone which had been dug. It came to life...and became this,” the elderly dragon rose after sipping the tea and beckoned forth a creature, whose paws sounded heavily on the tile floor of Aleros’s study.
Many shimmering facets reflected the sunlight streaming in through cracks in the earthen ceiling, as a being stepped forth. Great ringlets strayed over clusters of hard gemstones. Aleros smiled, approaching to observe the beautifully bonded scales.
“Do you have a name?” he queried.
The great awakened stone dragon reached up to her shoulder and with a crunch broke free a piece of the elemental gemstone, offering it to the tundraborn scholar. “I am Terrazyth, Avatar of the Earthshaker.” The stone in her palm gleamed and within it swirled a multicolor fusion of magical energy.
“We are trying to find homes for these creatures in the mean time. I was hoping you and Zarazne might have a place…”
Aleros considered the bright jewel in his palm, watching the play of the colors and the light. He could feel the earth magic emanating from within. “Tell me, Terrazyth, do you remember the time before your awakening?”
The obelisk pondered this, her deep eyes receding into a realm beyond comprehension. “Not now, but I believe I will, in time.”
Aleros nodded. “A story that I hope to hear one day, great Avatar. Will you find a home here in the Clan of Eons.”
“That seems most agreeable to me.”
Terrazyth is new to the world of Sornieth, but old in spirit, carrying the ancient memories of the land itself. She is one of the Avatars Epoch, and a demigoddess whose powers stem from being crafted from the very stone of Dragonhome by the hand of the mighty Earthshaker. She speaks only seldom, though her energy is warm and welcoming. She is a calming presence among the Flight of Eons, and often provides refuge for those in need of a period of peace. She and Aleros often meditate together in the High Sanctum, and she is fond of hatchlings, often teaching them how to meditate and sharing jewels and fun toys with them. Her greatest wish is to remember the time before awakening, when she was one with the earths of the world, and to one day return to the peace and tranquility of it. She is considered a cleric of the High Sanctum, and a sage who many seek for oracle.
