T H E M E: Losing My Religion
Asrelle's business is not unscrupulous by nature, so it's a strange matter of fate that she keeps getting involved in operations that are less than honest. Asrelle grew up in the Scarred Wasteland, horrified by the twisted landscape and primitive outlook on life that so many of its residents held. Asrelle wanted better things for herself -- knowledge, above all else. The area she grew up in had very little written history, only local legends and records passed dragon to dragon by word of mouth. It wasn't terribly efficient. Asrelle decided she wanted to work to combat such disregard for history. She crossed the border into the Starfall Isles when she was barely grown and never looked back.
Asrelle counts her time studying at a small archive in Arcane territory one of the happiest periods in her life. She was allowed to focus on nothing but her studies and the work she did in the library to make her room and board. She was young, but she was driven. She discovered a real penchant for history as well as a visceral disgust for her homeland. Asrelle vowed to herself to never return to Plague territory, to never associate herself with such senselessness again. The decay, the dirt, the haughtiness her fellow Plague dragons carried themselves with -- it disgusted her. Despite her origins, she refocused her area of study and doubled-down on her research of the Starfall Isles and its potent history of magic and unexplained phenomenon. She wore the scholars' garb that was in fashion among the various academic types at the Tourmaline Archives. She collected Arcane trinkets and artifacts with such fervor that she accidentally fostered a relationship with a particular organization that many dragons don't dare trifle with.
The Silent Crow doesn't have much of a hold on Asrelle. She isn't a proper member and has never even been to the central outpost. Rather, she's a regular stop for Silent Crow operatives who happen into her study on business. Lance and Florence are particular favorites of hers -- they carry only small amounts of the cutting air that Crows are known for. While some of the Silent Crow's associates pretend to be ignorant to the true nature of the business they're involved in, it's entirely possible that Asrelle really doesn't know what her advice and artifacts are being used for. She's pretty easy to read most of the time and she betrays nothing of her dealings with the Crows.
Still, the outpost is only a small part of Asrelle's life. She continues her pursuit of knowledge and is always working on some new research project.
