Dav is the clan healer and the watcher of the hatchlings. He's gotten really good at looking after babies, and is infinitely patient with even the most trying of them.

With Isaura here to take on some of the healing, Dav can spend more time with the babies, including hers, since she and Cullen are almost always out on patrol. When his favorite student is in the lair, though, Dav turns the hatchlings over to Jocasta for a day and spends time with Isaura and her mate.

Davorin is close with his son, Dmitry, who also likes playing with the babies. Dav and Dimi tried their best to rescue all the eggs and hatchlings of Clan Sunleaf from the freak chill that almost decimated the nesting grounds, but they lost several babies. Davorin accepted the censure from the parents of the lost hatchlings without protest, but Dmitry has been tireless in his defense of his father.

It looked like Dav would step down, both in his hatchling duties and as elder, until Sieglinde, and later a remorseful Seascape, talked him out of it.

Davorin was offered one of the cats that mysteriously appeared in the lair, but he declined, stating his concern that they would eat his fish. Konstantin's Mainecoon doesn't seem inclined toward seafood that she has to work for, so peace continues in the grotto
