Nereus

note: this dragon uses ANY pronouns, however, this bio exclusively uses they/them to refer to them in the interest of clarity.

personality: carries themself with a lot of dignity. very nice, but not always particularly kind. maybe a little petty? dunno

currently part of the prophets' union. best known for their proficiency in scrying.*

history:

born in the leviathan trench and raised there through childhood; family moved to spiral keep during adolescence

spent a lot of time learning how to scry from well-established deep prophets of the spiral keep, then later moved to a stronghold in the starwood strand to learn more about arcane scrying methods in the interest of supplementing their own work.

while studying in the starwood strand, nereus needed a study buddy because actually they're pretty terrible at school, and ascretan was already their scrying classmate and acquaintance through a mutual then-friend.

interested in sharing their prophecies with the rest of dragonkind, nereus joined the prophets' union... at some point

* scrying is one of many disciplines of divination. a typical session of scrying will require a dose of magic nonsense, a reflective surface, and a kind of catalyst that determines which futures it will show you. depending on various factors scrying will show differing quantities and lengths of 'moments' from the point of view of any dragon present. proficiency at scrying is typically measured in how much information you're able to glean from the slices of the future you see, and how well you're able to control what you see in the first place.
