When Zenzi first arrived in Duskbreak, her role within the clan was unclear. At first, she was just meant to be another supporting member in the clan's ever increasing ranks- someone insignificant in the grand scheme of things- but there was something captivating about her that attracted the attention of others, both within the clan and outside of it. She rarely spoke a word- to the point that some believed she simply couldn't, but a particularly bubbly member of the clan would be the one to find out that that wasn't the case- not by a long shot.

It didn't take long for the clan idol, Fiore, to take notice of Zenzi. She saw herself in her- a quiet, unnoticed dragon simply existing within the lair. Unlike Fiore, though, Zenzi was born with a natural, striking beauty- but she clearly didn't see it. She was certain Zenzi had potential, and on one fateful afternoon, Fiore approached Zenzi and offered her a partnership- a chance to become something much greater within the clan.

At first, Zenzi was confused by the idol's proposal. Her? A performer for the Duskbreak Celebration? She thought it was some sort of joke- after all, what role could she possibly play that would compare at all to Fiore in the festival? She felt she had nothing she could contribute- but Fiore assured her that Lisia and herself could help her find her place. In the end, Zenzi agreed, albeit hesitantly. Truthfully, Fiore wasn't entirely sure where they would fit her in to the festival, but that all changed one day when the distant sound of unfamiliar singing caught her attention.

Fiore, captivated by the sounds of this strange, ethereal sounding voice, followed the sound outside of the clan's borders and found herself stood among an artificial garden that the clan's ambassador planted with the help of his partner. There, sat amongst the flowers and other plants, was Zenzi. She didn't notice Fiore, and continued to sing- until Fiore finally spoke.

"Why didn't you tell me you could sing? This is perfect!"

Zenzi stood with a start, the last note she had been singing ending in a sharp, piercing cry of shock. She spun around to face Fiore, her face red. She quietly responded, telling Fiore that she couldn't sing in front of others. She explained that the reason she never spoke was because of severe shyness- and the thought of singing in front of an audience? There was no chance. But Fiore was determined to convince her otherwise. Fiore began to protest, but at that moment, another dragon approached the two, an awestruck look upon his face.

"...Was that you singing...?"

The two turned to face the newcomer, both equally surprised. Of course, it was only Fiore that spoke up.

"Dargwen? What are you doing here? Did you hear the singing too?"

He gave her a puzzled look before responding.

"...Of course I did- in fact, I think most of the clan did. We were waiting for you to come back, but you took so long, I offered to go check on you and the singing... That was you, right, Zenzi?"

Zenzi was stunned for a handful of reasons. Everyone had heard? And they actually... liked her singing? She was equally surprised that Dargwen knew her name, but she couldn't bring herself to ask him how. In the end, she simply nodded before looking away, embarrassed. But if everyone had liked her singing, then... maybe...

Fiore broke the silence once again, failing to contain her excitement.

"See? I told you you'd be perfect! There's nothing to worry about- it sounds like they already love you! If you can't do it, no one will be upset with you. But... do you think you could give it a try? I'm sure you'd be the star of the show if you did... and if you don't like it, you don't ever have to do it again. What do you say?"

Zenzi was conflicted. On one hand, the knowledge that the others loved her singing alleviated a lot of her reservations, but on the other, the fear was still there... In the end though, she agreed, much to Fiore's delight. When the next Duskbreak Celebration rolled around, Zenzi was introduced as the newest member to the festival troupe- and despite her fears, she sang for all of Duskbreak and its visitors. Her performance was a huge success, and those that attended unanimously agree that it was the best festival the clan has seen to date.

Word of Zenzi spread rapidly, and dragons from clans across all of Sornieth came to see her and hear her perform- much to her bewilderment. In addition to her budding fame, she found something else she never expected- a partner. At the conclusion of the festival, Dargwen approached Zenzi and confessed that he'd been captivated by her for quite some time. Zenzi was naturally surprised to hear this, but she agreed to spend some time with him and give him a chance. After all, without him, she may never have agreed to sing in the festival... In the end, the two grew inseparably close, and though she may still be quite shy even to him, there's no doubt that she loves him- as well as everyone else that has shown her such kindness despite her fears.
