On the horizon the sun started appearing, basking the lair in a soft light. Two large Imperials were protectively curled around 4 pale yellow eggs, which almost seemed to be beaming. One of them lifted their head, blinking slowly until a smal crack could be heard. The one with the swirly markings quickly woke up their mate with the sparkling gems across his body. From the egg hatched 4 small hatchlings, 3 boys and one girl. Their parents couldn’t be prouder until they took a closer look. What was wrong with their daughter? They picked her up and turned her over, checking for any gold covering her scales or fur but nothing could be found. wip
Mara and Noah were the leaders of a Imperial-only clan in the Sunbeam Ruins. Mara’s family had been ruling the clan for generations, their golden markings seen as a blessing from the Lightweaver herself. Raised as royalty, she was promised to a male Imperial from a young age, the best suitable mate for her. His red scales bright and shining, the golden gems on his body sparkling. He also was smart and strong and Noah’s parents were delighted when they got the offer from their leaders. Their son would be the future leader of the clan! The male was brought to court so he could grow up together with the princess and they became good friends. Eventually, love bloomed between them without ever being pushed by their parents and Noah asked for Mara’s claw himself.
When her and Noah's first clutch hatched, an unmarked girl came out, there wasn't a golden spot to find on her scales. Grown up with stories about how they culled 'unworthy' dragons from their lineage they quickly gathered their belongings and left, afraid for their daughters life.
They flew over the The Sea of a Thousand Currents to loose their tracks and they came at the Clifftop Clan, seeking refugee. Lily gladly took them in of course and they raised their children in peace at the clan. While her brothers all left after they grew up, Phaenna stayed near her parents.
