Biography

this is set in another universe where they arent dragons but are (commonly humanoid) monsters or human/hybrids (eg: faun, minotaur, etc)
MIRE
ey/em

seemingly the only one of eir kind, Mire was created by the very pendant that ey wear around their neck. it's unknown when, why and who made the magic pendant, but it's capable of creating artificial life, which had so far been an impossible feat to achieve.

eir body consists mainly of a substance similar to sludge, slime or tar, with glowing veins coursing throughout eir sludge. it's thought that the purple veins are the magic emitted from the pendant that gives em life.

Because of the failed reanimation process, the debris that made up Mire's body turned to a thick, tar-like substance. This also meant that Mire had no recollection of another life, as the man that was meant to be reanimated turned to dust centuries ago.

backstory/birth: The amulet around Mire's neck was originally created centuries ago by a zealous cult with the intent to bring back the dead. It had been placed around a recently deceased man, the leader of the cult, who was meant to be brought back to life by the dark magic within the amulet. However, an incident occurred, and the amulet was never able to be successfully activated. The body of this man decomposed over centuries alone in the now-abandoned temple, slowly turning into a pile of disintegrated skeletal remains.

It wasn't until a freelance archaeologist by the name of Hexed found this underground temple that the amulet had been in the presence of another living being since the incident. Immediately, the energy from Hexed had reactivated the amulet and left it in a docile state, waiting to be fully initiated. Hexed explored the room that had been left to rot for centuries. The stone walls were now covered in webs, moss and what only could be described as remnants of past magic use. The floor was littered with dust and teeth, which meant that the bodies that once lay here were now turned to dust. In the centre of the room was a podium with a coffin-shaped base at the top. Hexed approached it and immediately felt a blast of powerful energy. It made him light-headed, but he continued his search. Next to the coffin on top of the podium was a lectern that held a single, mummified book. The pages were turning to dust in his hands, but he was able to make out a few pages. Inside was a foreign language written in blood. Hexed made the mistake of attempting to read it. Whatever he had read, he had said it correct enough for the amulet to begin rumbling. Hexed looked up from the book at the amulet he had not yet noticed. Instant fascination caught his attention. Ignorantly, he kept reading the passage from the book to further induce the waking state of the amulet.

Finally, the amulet flashed a bright purple and the temple shook violently. Dust and debris crumbled from the ceiling and the floor beneath Hexed cracked and roared with fury. This bright light began to dim and move in ways that appeared to be making a shape. An irregular, unknown shape, but a shape nonetheless. The vein-like purple contours seemed to absorb the dust, dirt, mud, and the other debris near the podium. The shape began to become more coherent. It wasn't a humanoid shape. It was a large blob of thick, black sludge. It sizzled and popped like a pool of molten tar. The mass started to contort and pulsate rapidly as if it was growing a giant cyst. The growth revealed itself as a torso in due time, as the sludge under it had started to look like a pair of thick legs.

This was beyond Hexed's line of business.
