The Council had spoken. The perpetrator, Wisp, or rather, the spirit that now inhabited his body, was to be banished from the clan. Their Emissary of Water was no more. His personality and memories, as far as anyone could tell, were no longer with them. It was, in effect, a murder.

His interpreter and clan medium, Caundry, knew not whether to plead for his case. While the spirit Ghallager remained silent, he did not appear to be in total control of his magic; he seemed more focused on trying to determine what had happened rather than arguing his case to mere mortals.

It is for that reason that she chose to go with him, wherever his journey afar may lead.

There were still mysteries of this world to unravel.

And unbeknownst to all, the former Emissary followed.
