The previous leader of the clan, Ananke started out as a promising fighter who was not afraid to speak and make decisions. This was a breath of fresh air for the clan, considering it's often hard to find serious, strict and reputable dragons on the Windswept Plateau; especially dragons like her, who acted as if they crawled from the deepest pits of Rotrock Rim and lived to tell the tale.

She didn't come from either; she came from the suffocating, harsh, combusting environment of the Ashfall Waste. Not as dangerous as Plague, but not as safe as Wind.
However, nobody really knows why she left to a place so different from home. Certainly not because she wouldn't fit; she fit almost perfectly in the harsher ranks of blacksmiths she claimed to be born into.
The key word: almost.
And that almost would be something the clan would find out about in the worst possible form.

Ananke wasn't a perfect leader, really. She was strict and aggressive to a fault, and would often pick fights with the neighboring clans who were once their allies. Anytime someone complained, or simply gave a suggestion, she'd shut them down with snarls or even a broken limb, depending on how harshly they'd questioned her.

Lore tidbits for when i feel like writing:

• Ananke only wanted total control over the clan so she could bail out a certain someone from the Fortress of Ends, and believed that the dragons from the Windswept Plateau would be "stupid and malleable enough" so she could make them submit to what she wanted
• She got kicked out of her original home for following the brutal orders of a strange dragon and escalating it to trying to overthrow the clan's commander and take over
• So anyways her new clan was entirely under her control (or so she thought) and they went ahead with the break-in, only for it to absolutely annihilate the clan because Ananke really thought a handful of dragons who hated her would succeed in bailing out some dragon they didn't even know in literally any way from the death fortress of You'll Be Staying Here Forever
• but no because obviously they had Kirave, the overpowered shadow mage who could definitely do something- oh wait he deserted during the fight like two thirds of the clan
• yeah Ananke you're lucky they even keep you alive after all this
• more like lucky a good amount of people who knew what you had done didn't live long enough to tell the newest members
• because well even if they left the warzone there's still the giant blizzard plain thing they weren't prepared for, ice dragons and guards everywhere, and a good chance that if they found someone they'd just get killed or turned in and transferred to the Freezing Death Prison Place anyways, and if they escaped before getting brought there the endless blizzard ravaging through everywhere would still be there like?? gurl
• oh yeah also she left when she realized she could still save her skin by leaving the few others who had stayed to fight with her, and you can BET she was a hypocrite by getting mad at everyone else who still had the guts (and the life) to return home afterwards
• so yeah she's now perpetually in gay baby jail (derogatory). sorry i don't make the rules (except i kinda do)
• she's in some cave off the wider clan network and won't get out ever in any way (the new clan even put some guards at first but they just gave up because she would just sit there and do nothing)
• the people in charge of giving her food and stuff are always the newest members (who are fully grown and suited for it ofc) as part of a little tradition (plus the oldest members would always get angry at her and she'd get angry back so win-win for everyone (but is it really))
• there are a few new members who are curious about what exactly did she do and why everyone despises her so much, so they try wringing out some words from her (she just snarls and hisses at them)
• as soon as Ananke stops brooding and if she had some extra braincells, she could begin telling them the story through some faulty lenses and convince them she did nothing wrong actually, everyone else just hates me so they threw me in here like the poor little meow meow i am
• but luckily she's too busy coping seething and malding so that hasn't happened... just yet
• ...just until that strange dragon gives her orders again
• you know, maybe they should start putting guards in there again. not to prevent her from escaping, but to prevent others from coming in. actually just never have people near her ever. murder is also on some dragons' plans, but for now, it's out of revenge and not safety
