Borea

The Frostguard

Borea is best known for three things, and three things only, that she has spent her life perfecting. The first, a near boundless enthusiasm for her work, her friends and her mate Weddell. The second, a laugh that booms and echoes for miles around, yet has never started a single avalanche. The third is starting avalanches anyway.

Borea and Weddell, play a vital role in the clan's protection by taming known avalanche zones as a team. Using her weight and Weddell's tunnels, the pair can safely trigger smaller avalanches to prevent a large one from building up. Borea uses her stomach as a sledge to ride the microlanche to safety, her thick hide protecting her from any rocks or sharp ice she might encounter. Once Weddell helps her out of the snow, it's straight back up the hills to the next one.

Her employment within the Frostguard was more a lucky coincidence. She was already happily taming avalanches even before she was found, and now she gets paid to keep doing it AND she got to meet the love of her life, so it couldn't have worked out better for her. When she's not on duty, she's typically the first to befriend newcomers to the Frostguard and adores teaching them what she knows, though her heavily specialized duties only suit a few dragons and she has yet to find anyone else brave enough to join her in the actual snowfall.
