Following in his Dad's footsteps as the Arcane Rep

Denz was in search of an assistant for studying Arcane magic and so took insisted Nygress lay their eggs in the Starfall Isles. Right before the little ones hatched, Denz wanted to go take them to the Arcanist so they could be blessed with knowledge and strong Arcane magics. Little Chalice began to hatch and his wiggling caused Denz to drop his egg at the Focal Point, where magic swirls in strong torrents and pulls the earth to the sky. This caused the little hatchling to be exposed to strange and powerful magic before he was ready.

By the time Denz found him again, the magics had caused him to mutate and change. His poor little body was wrecked, and Denz rushed him to the Arcanist, begging him to fix his son. The Arcanist's curiosity for knowledge stirred him to save this strange mutant and so Chalice was healed and marked with the symbol of his savior. Once a year, during the Starfall Celebration, Chalice returns to the Starfall Isles to speak to the Arcanist and help them understand what has happened to his body.

His extra horns, wings, and eyes appear to be harmless and even helpful so far. He sometimes gets a headache if there's too much for his eyes to focus on and sometimes wears wing covers in the caves so as to not get dust in his wing eyes.
