Biography

Brutius
He/him | The Cursed Remainder
Mate: N/A

Brutius was the last egg to be born of his clutch. After the other two, his brothers, had been given away to a witch in a deal his mother had made.
He was not meant to survive. His egg was frozen solid, covered in spiraling patterns of ice, and simply unable to hold life.
However, by some miracle, Brutius hatched. Late. Very late. So late it saved his mother from losing three children to a witch.

He's been left stunted by the endeavor, being much smaller than most other skydancers. His wings are quite small as well, even twisting and fringing at the ends, as though they weren't allowed to properly develop. This hardly seems to bother him, as he's got little interest in flying in the Icefield's weather, but it's hard not to notice once you're close.
Snowflakes also flutter from his eyes, littering the grounds on which he walks; a testament to how strong his ice magic is... Despite everything.

Brutius grew up to be quite a little star in the eyes of the townsfolk. Having heard whispered rumors of his story - some a little more fabricated than others - many were drawn to him, bolstering an ego in the young dragon with so much attention on him.
He became loud. Boisterous. Constantly in the tavern, talking up every patron, making sure every new dragon knew his name. He was far more extraverted than his poor, reserved mother, who would be off to the side softly smiling while he basked in all the eyes upon him.

The problem, however, was his confidence. And his naivete.
He knew the real story of what happened to his brothers. And why his mother's scales were coated with ice, despite her plague heritage. It angered him. It boiled deep inside him. He wanted to do something about it.
But Naira always told him to never speak of it. Do not tell other dragons his origins. Let them speculate as they wish, but never indulge them. NEVER mention the witch.

(Icewarden only knows what would happen should word spread, and should the witch hear of it; how would she react to learning she'd been cheated out of a son?)

But Brutius was brash. It didn't take long before he snapped. He rallied the tavern goers together, during a stormy, pitch-black night, and filled them all in on a plan he had. He kept to his word - never explaining his origins - but told the townsfolk that the witch had wronged him and his mother. The witch needed to be killed.
They would go out sometime in the following evenings and torch her home. Find her and kill her before she could hurt anyone else.

As for how Brutius knew how to find the witch... Well. He made a little friend. Someone he knew - as she was poor at hiding it - that she was an apprentice of the witch. Brutius was kind to this apprentice, never letting her find out his intentions, but was subtly probing her for any information he could get on where to find her home.
That poor girl was none the wiser, too starstruck with his charms to even think about why he was asking.

Once Naira found out about Brutius's plan, she was horrified. She pled with her son to not go through with this; he was happy here! He was SAFE here! There was no need to go after the witch now! Just stay here, stay comfortable, stay safe.
But he was having none of it. He would be getting revenge for both of them. For his brothers, too. And for the other townsfolk who had suffered curses at the witch's talons in the past.

...Now, the whole scene that happens after and what becomes of it is a work in progress. BUT, I do know that Brutius puts together a whole mob and then tells the apprentice girl to lead him to the witch's home. To which she starts doing, but halfway there she stops like "hey are you doing this because you love and care me?" and he just starts laughing at her because he's stupid. Then he attacks her before she can run off, which is even stupider, and before he can do anything WOAH!! A blizzard! And DOUBLE WOAH!! He's attacked by something out of the storm! It's! Oh my God Who Could Have Guessed, It's one of his brothers! Alive and well!
The drama! The horror! The . whatever, I'll write this all Properly dramatic later once I figure out where to go from here SHDKGJH
