A cambion, by dictionary definition, is the offspring of a demon and a human. At times, it is even comparable to the classic changelings.

The big takeaway of this little lesson is that Cambrie’s mother had a terribly funny naming sense.

Cambrie’s father was… decidedly not a dragon. Hardly a being blessed by the Eleven, either. She doesn’t know what he is, but though he’s definitely not a Shade, he feels eerily similar to it. It manifests in the way he handles things, in how there’s an aura around him that reeks of poison and despair, with just everything about him.

Not that her mother ever minded, with her loose morals and lack of care to anyone’s opinions.

Despite being raised by her mother, Cambrie does care, though.

So no matter what her parents might think, she will erase this stain on her lineage.
