Reaper, a name given not by parents but by prey. What else could one call something so fierce? So devoid of mercy? No simple dragon name could possibly be right for something so feared. To even call Reaper a dragon would seem wrong. Reaper is something other. Less? More? Who can truly say. Reaper was a dragon once. Not anymore. Not since the heart was sold.

Even shadows whisper of Reaper. Of the dragon thing so bold to sell it's very heart. The heart; core of one's being, ones memories and emotions. Without a heart what is left? That is why they whisper "it" when speaking of Reaper. Why they call it a "thing". With no heart how can one still call it a being?

And from such a transaction, what did it gain?
