Biography
Sabori and Ernest were hatchlings on their way to serve one of the deities of Sorineth when suddenly Beastclan members attacked. Still too young to know how to fly or to defend themselves, the two of them ran for their lives into the brambles and foliage until they escaped.
But now they were lost.
Without any older dragons, they would surely not last the night.
That's when a Pearlcatcher and a small Veilspun appeared from the woods and offered to lead the two to safety. They ate, slept, and walked right underneath their watchful eyes.
When they finally reached their settlement, both Sabori and Ernest were grateful to be among other dragons. They were even more intrigued by the mention that one of them, Aila, would be creating a delicious meal to properly welcome them into their group.
To Ernest's horror, he and Sabori were given an egg to eat. Unable to deny their hosts the meal, both dragons ate the eggs.
Regret was in Ernest's mind as he ate the Shadow egg, but Sabori on the other hand was delighted by the Nature egg's flavor. In the morning, Ernest awoke to find his body darkened by the Shadow egg's powers, and found himself wanting to stay in the shadows of the woods as opposed to the light of day.
Cypress, a Ridgeback in charge of training the two, was furious at Ernest's refusal to fight. Aila suggested that Ernest could instead buy eggs from unsuspecting dragons. When Ernest tried speaking against this, a look from Cypress made him shut his mouth.
As the weeks passed, Ernest realized he and Sabori were growing up and growing apart. Aila restricted their time to talk, and with him at the bottom of the heiarchy, they were further discouraged from even seeing each other.
Maybe that's why one day he decided to spare the life of a familiar which he named Wisp. The Sparksylph was his secretive companion, as he feared the other Carrion Hoppers might try to harm the playful creature. They met whenever he was going out, and he confided to the familiar his wishes and struggles.
That is, till he met Cassandra, a Imperial who was trying to excavate an area of land for research.
It just started with him dropping by to ask more questions about archeology and fossils, then from there a mutual relationship spurred.
Ernest knew he had to keep his meetings short, no matter how much it ached his heart to be away from her. But he didn't want to know at all where she lived. It made buying eggs from other clans much easier for him to handle.
If only love was as easy to control...
