Biography
HYDRANGEA
He/Him
Clan-born, Priest
He/Him
Clan-born, Priest
Youngest of Inkspot and Eve's first clutch.
Blessed by the Arcanist. The religious leader of the clan. He's fascinated by stars and space, which is part of the reason he became the clan's Arcane Priest. As part of the first clutch of Inkspot and Eve's new clan, there was a lot expected from him. From the moment he came out of his egg, his parents urged him to find a way to be useful to the growing clan. When they discovered his knack for magic, they were overjoyed and urged him to try to make a connection with the Arcanist. When he was successful, he became the Arcane Priest of the clan, leading them in anything magical. Maybe he should've been bothered by his parents guiding him towards such a weighted position, but he was too excited to be able to learn more about magic and the night sky stretching out in front of him. In a parallel he was unaware of, he'd climb up structures at night, staring wide-eyed at the stars. (Gonna redo these, plz ignore lmao) A young Hydrangea tugged on his mother's fur. "Mama?" Eve didn't spare him a glance, speaking absentmindedly as she helped Inkspot comb through Angus's fur. "Not now, Hydrangea, we're teaching your brother how to be the next clan leader." Hydrangea tugged at her fur again. "But Mama, I-" Eve huffed and turned to Hydrangea's tiny form. She pointed to the entrance to their lair. "Hydrangea. Go play outside. Your father and I are busy." Hydrangea sighed and nodded, leaving to go play by himself.

Hydrangea jolted awake at the sound of a crash. Looking around, he saw his older brother. "Angus? What's- It's the middle of the night?" Angus was frantically moving around, gathering his belongings. Hydrangea blinked in confusion. "I can't do this anymore Hyd, I can't be the clan leader, its too much pressure!" Hydrangea was shocked. "What?! What are you talking about? Being the clean leader has been all you've talked about since you were a hatchling!" Angus rolled his eyes and growled. "Ugh, I should've known that you wouldn't understand. I'm leaving. Tonight." Hydrangea flinched slightly. What did he mean by that? Sure, they were raised together, but Angus was always treated the best and given the most attention since he was their parent's heir. He of all people shouldn't say something like that. "Wouldn't understand? I'm probably the only one that does understa- Ow! Angus!" Angus had grabbed onto Hydrangea's shoulder, but with how big he was compared to him, his claws were pushing into the scales on Hydrangea's back and wings. "You're not going to stop me. And don't even think about telling anyone." Hydrangea trembled slightly and shook his head. "Ow- Angus, you're hurting me! And of course I won't tell!" Angus let go and turned to pick up all of his belonging he had been collecting. "Good." He swept out of the room quickly. Hydrangea watched in shock at the suddenness of it all. |
