Nushen travelled everywhere in a hurry because he liked to be as early as possible, but sometimes this resulted in mistakes in her deliveries or dragons potentially misinterpreting the time referred to in their letter.

When Sphinx gifted them with a copper pocketwatch from the clan's hoard, Nushen was exceedingly pleased, and truly deeply appreciated such a generous act, especially from her in particular. She wears it around their neck at all times, checking it every few minutes, as though the passage of time was some exciting surprise. Little did he know, the pocketwatch was actually a couple hours late, meaning they occasionally arrived on time from then on.

As an extra precaution, in case they catch on thanks to their extra eyes and skillful lipreading, all letters must also have an "intended arrival time" in large script at the top of the message. This didn't work beforehand as occasionally she would arrive multiple days or weeks early so "intended to arrive at 4pm on the 14th" didn't always suffice, shockingly.

Nushen is often the reason that the clan no longer holds any competetive flying races; other clans and their clanmates deemed it unfair. Any they do hold have him banned, but young, big-headed dragons often challenge him to races, and promptly - no - very promptly, have their egos crushed even if both racers bear gustgathers.
