Biography
Pearlcatchers have a reputation for being vain, cowardly creatures, haughty and pompous, preening and high-strung.
No description could be less relevant to Dheneil.
Terse and taciturn, Dheneil is a down-to-business sort who gets things done efficiently and with as little muss and fuss as possible, preferably with as few words as possible. Of his family, he most resembles his father by breed, but Dheneil is entirely his mother's child, a warrior to his bones.
Clan Fulgurite's General might be dead, but there was a call for help and Dheneil still has his orders. What he'll find, he doesn't know. The messenger died before the message could be delivered in full, and Dheneil only knows that there is a smell he should be wary of.
And that something dangerous lurks within.
So goes life, and fate, Dheneil leaving the clan of his birth to assimilate somewhere new. Somewhere where he will be a necessary and needed protector, and not just one of many soldiers.
He can only hope that his support will be enough...
Three... years later, Dheneil lives alone in a small nook carved out of the sandstone on the border between Lightning and Water. He's difficult to track down, and even harder to get a sentence out of - the only way to find him, short of pure luck, is by following a particular rabbling bunch of vagabonds - they stop by every once in a while to trade spells and stories for food.
Now, if you do talk to him, you're sure to find out something interesting... but if you do, beware. Some tales are not meant to be told aloud, and some curses transfer by ear.
