______ Banish was not always his name. He hails from a small clan in the lightning flight that had packed up and moved to the ice flight. Not used to the snowy wasteland, they had been going through a famine. Tensions were high and the leader forbid any hatchlings from being born for the time being. At the time, the young dragon had settled to father a nest with his mate despite the situation and his leader's orders. This would later become his downfall.

______ Banish and his mate had hidden their nest away from the rest of the clan, hoping to protect the three small skydancers. However, their absence did not go unnoticed. The leader of their clan eventually discovered them when the nest hatched and the tiny hatchlings' cries were hard to hide. He lashed out at the couple, which led to a small scuffle resulting in the death of his mate. Banish was much weaker than their leader and was mortified to realize he stood no chance as he suffered a deep wound. Panicking, he snatched one of his children, Matilal, and fled. Their leader screamed angrily behind him that he was never to return and his name would now forever would be Banish.

______ Injured, heartbroken, and exhausted, he finally stopped after flying for hours to the edge of the ice flight and to the border of the arcane flight. While he was unsure of once again setting foot into unknown lands, he feared his leader finding him more. Snuggling Matilal close, he finally fell asleep knowing he would need energy for tomorrow. When morning finally came, Banish gathered his son into his claws and set flight once again, this time away from his home and over the border. He knew the wind flight tended to be fairly peaceful and decided to head there. There had to be a clan there who would take in Banish and his son, and that was all the motivation he needed.

B I O G R A P H Y

______ The trip along the edge of the Starfall Isles into the Scarred Wastelands was a lot quicker than traveling through the Southern Icefield. As long as he could get through a short stretch of land, he could reach the Windswept Plateau to safety. He was luckily not met with any resistance. Relief flooded over him when he finally reached the stretch of green and he collapsed into the grass, knowing his journey would be over soon. He kept his rest brief. He was not quite safe yet, and he knew that all too well.

______ It wasn't until he reached the Singer's Brook that he found what he sought after. He ran into a female skydancer who noticed Banish and his son's conditions. Fussing over the two, she led him to her clan, taking Matilal to be looked over by their main healer while Banish was also examined. They patched his wounds, fed him, and reunited him soon after with his son. Two faes approached him after, introducing themselves as the leaders of the clan. Banish thanked them and their clan for their assistance and begged the two to allow him to stay. The two smiled and accepted them with no hesitation. When the two asked his name, he paused for a moment before answering. "Banish."

______ Quite some time has passed since everything happened. Banish regrets not knowing the whereabouts of his other children, wishing he could have taken them with him. He misses his mate every day and wishes he could have saved her. However, he is grateful his new home and was happy to watch Matilal grow up healthy and free of the fate he could have suffered back in the Southern Icefields. He has not yet thought of taking another mate. His heart still aches and he needs time to heal.
