Alkaid's role in the clan is to watch the stars and help predict upcoming storms or major weather events, so that the clan can prepare ahead of time with stockpiles of resources or reinforcements to the tunnels. But such events aren't too common, and it gets boring simply using the sky to know when is the best time to collect plants versus seafood. Thus, after the necessary information has been obtained, Alkaid often tries to use the stars to know which dragons may have upcoming drama. She is right on exceedingly rare occasions.
