The pages are brittle but coarse, grating like fine sandpaper as they are touched and slowly turned. The book is old, the paper tinged with the weathered yellow of time. Faint gold lettering still glints from the textured leather cover; a title carved in scrawling cursive that reads Creatio ex nihilo.

It tells the story of a solitary traveler's journey through the desert and provokes a sense of profound loneliness in its readers who find themselves weeping in despair. Once the tale has been read, no amount of company can dissuade the feeling.
