Alessia

Alessia glanced at a strange coatl doll that was clutching her paw. It shouldn't have been able to move. In fact, she was pretty sure it was motionless when the awkward cook (or, at least, his left half that seemed to like her more than she'd expect from an aberration) handed it to her. But then the shopkeeper touched it, under the pretense of examining the stitches, and the damn thing blinked.

By the time she rushed out of the store, the doll was holding onto her like its life depended on it. She considered dropping it somewhere in the back alley but...the longer she looked into its strange red eyes, the more she just wanted to gently poke its soft nose. Hug it tightly. Call it something silly, like Jimothy or Ducky.

She knew the land she was headed to was full of hard surfaces and sharp rocks, perhaps taking the clingy squishy doll wasn't such a bad idea?
