Upon Unconquered's arrival, (then still) childless Foen took him under her wing, snapping at anyone who approached the little one. No, this little one was special, Foen could sense it, though she knew not how or why. The clan's teachings and songs of everyday life weren't going to be enough for this one, he needed more, and Foen was determined to help him.
After a few days, Foen decided to let Unconquered spend his free time playing with the rest of the clan instead of studying. How else was he supposed to learn to speak their language, their ways? Oh, sure, there were stories and books and scrolls about all that, but there was nothing like first-hand experience.
Squealing with delight, he took off and pounced at Ganz and Hopeful, his fascination with the fae drawing him to them. Perhaps thanks to Ganz's translating, it wasn't long before Unconquered could converse with the fae, though there was the occasional laugh as he mixed up his words. He was fast to learn, and would bound back to the lair each night full of stories and adventures for Foen.
Then one day, near the end of Brightshine '17, Foen gazed in shock at the newest addition to the clan. So much like the little one, it was clear they were family. 'How?' she squeaked when she found she could talk again. Her only answer was Aine's smile.
