Once the enterprising captain of a successful passenger ship, Lido's entire life changed the night he was shipwrecked off the coast of the Highland Sanctum. His vessel was cleaved in two, and he was the sole survivor to wake clinging to the wreckage. His wounds, in time, would heal; but the mental damage did not.

Before the incident, Lido was a lazy and sarcastic sort of fellow, the kind who found humor in most situations and rarely expressed urgency for anything that wouldn't make him money. Any profit he earned was burned away in pubs and gambling dens, and he made sordid friends in every port he visited.

Now, Lido suffers from waking nightmares of a terrible phenomenon, an otherwordly event that destroyed his ship and amalgamated his crew before his very eyes. Some dismiss him as being crazy, or having drank too much the night of the event; but Lido knows what he saw. He's now obsessed with discovering the truth behind the wreck's cause, all the while avoiding bodies of water, which leave him with unbearable panic attacks.

Lido traveled for months, hopping from archive to archive in search of information. He's spent nearly a year in Goldmortar pouring over their library's archives. When he's not digging for information on shipwrecks, or soliciting information from educated travelers, he can be found drunk or asleep at the local inn. His old personality often shines through when telling his sailor stories or hitting up the pretty thing in the stool next to his. But his demeanor changes in an instant when reminded of his ship and crew.

NOTES » Sadly, Lido was actually on the cusp of getting his life together prior to the incident. He was close to swearing off alcohol, his ship was making good money, and he had a girl he was interested in back home. He’s understandably bitter about it. » Lido has a surprisingly impressive singing voice. He’s got a deep baritone perfect for sea shanties, and is often heard singing to himself when alone.
