═══════════════════════════════════════════ BRIGHTFIN ; cursed hunter ═══════════════════════════════════════════ Anglerscale and Brightfin have always had something to prove. Coming from a clan of surface-born water dragons, they bonded over both being the runts of their respective clutches. As childhood friends, they sported big dreams of proving themselves to the regimented and warlike members of their lair. They were shunned, so instead of practicing with the others, they practiced together, far apart from their clutchmates. And they got good. Very good. Brightfin was always smart, persistent and cunning. Her natural charm and cheerful attitude made her the first pick for handling clients as well as snaking their way through social situations, and her keen intellect made her excellent at coming up with strategies. The two of them eventually left their home lair, making a name for themselves as monster slayers and bounty hunters for hire, using Angler's fighting prowess and Bright's natural instinct and tactical skills. Along their adventures, they had a run in with a client who gave them nothing but vague descriptions and a location, paying them an exorbitant amount to bring back a specific artifact. Despite apprehension at the lack of information, the massive payout had them running off into some shadowy ruins searching for this beast, and its arcane treasure. The beast itself seemed to be a dragon composed partially of mist, which fell and dissipated into the air when defeated. Their foe dead, (in a fight that was almost too easy) Brightfin went to claim the prize. She grasped the pendant, and immediately stumbled back, unconscious. She remembers having odd dreams, hearing a voice that she couldn't make out... but it all went away when she awoke. How much trouble could it be, really? Well, a lot, since the pendant had disappeared when Brightfin had touched it, which meant they had nothing to give to their employer. They ran off, putting as much distance between them and the angry arcane dragon client as they possibly could. Their next few missions, Brightfin slowly began to get acquainted with a new, stronger, darker magic that seemed to have rooted itself within her. Her power to manipulate energy had increased exponentially, but she started having odd dreams again, hearing odd voices... As of now, with the two of them settled down, Bright still seems to be a charming young woman with an upbeat attitude and an easy-to-get-along-with manner. But there's something slightly off about her... she delves into non-sequitur tangents sometimes, and occasionally seems distracted... most disconcerting, some dragons say that when they spent much time around her, they occasionally hear a voice, like someone far away trying to talk to her. Anglerscale worries for her, as she drifts slowly further towards whatever dark is calling her... but as far as most dragons are concerned, she's just a little odd, isn't she? | x |
