“Cirrus! Stop goofing around!” That was something that Cirrus, a young Imperial of the Shadow Flight, would always find himself hearing. From the very moment that he wandering into this clan as a welp, he would be one of the funniest, and happiest Dragons that resided in this ever growing clan. Cirrus doesn’t remember life before this clan; although, he was often told that he came from another clan that dwelled somewhere in Shadow Flight. He didn’t care though, he was happy with the family that he had wandered into, and the closeness that he found in Carnevale, Andesine, and Ketea. They made everyday an interesting and unique experience. Especially Carnevale. Her gentleness and love for everybody and everything made him adore her. He looked up to her like a mother and enjoyed helping her with running the clan or any other thing that she may need help with. He became very close to her and Andesine, her mate. As he spent time with her, he found himself spending more time with Andesine as well. He helped the larger dragon with anything that he needed and would often times hear him talk to himself about small clan matters. As he grew, he learned the ways of the clan and would often times find himself being confided in for clan decisions. This always have gave him a sense of purpose and his loyalty was always increasing.

As the days went by and Cirrus found himself more and more in love with the Clan, he himself had found love. A beautiful Imperial, Echo, stole his heart. It wasn’t long before they had had welps, and life was fulfilled with tiny dragon calls. But as it were, Cirrus was called to aid Carnevale more and more as her and Andesine decided to just be friends. Cirrus was confused by this decision, but he wasn’t going to question the first dragon to ever accept him for himself. He kept his positive attitude alive though by playing pranks and making any dragon he encountered laugh. He loved to hear them laughing and talking of joyous things. It made life better, he thought. That positive attitude would be what would keep him alive during the winter.

The earth seemed to have frozen over and the food ran short. It was clear that the clan was struggling, even he had a hard time keeping his sanity. Through it all though, he kept a smile on his face and helped in anyway that he could. He offered up his portion of food for the young ones and the elders. He offered to stay up all night on watch for any attacks that may happen. He had offered so much and expected little in return. Carnevale was grateful for him, and Echo was proud of her mate. Cirrus was strong in his ways, but could feel his own strength faltering as he watched, one by one, his friends leaving the clan to find a better home.
“The winter won’t stay long! Please stay!” He would say, hoping to sway them. But it was no use. The clan size diminished and he felt like a failure. He had vowed then to always keep his clan happy, and safe. He wasn’t going to watch anymore Dragons leave. This was tested when his mate, Echo, had declared that she wanted to leave.

“Why, my love?” He asked

“I am pulled to venture elsewhere. Something is calling me, Cirrus, and if my parents taught me anything, it is to always follow my heart.” She looked at him with a deep longing. He looked at her and could feel her urgency. With a heavy heart, he agreed. A few days later, Echo was gone. His heart hung heavy as he watched her go, but he quickly took a deep breath and knew that she was where she needed to be and he was he needed to be. He returned to his happy demeanor and continued to help Andesine and Carnevale. The happy times seemed to be reaching the clan again as he continued his positive pranks. He greeted all of the newcomers and helped the ones that were leaving if they had a good time here. Often times, he would slip a note to them asking if they ever see a beautiful Imperial by the name of Echo, if they could give her this note from him. He would watch with hopeful eyes as they took off, hoping that one letter would reach her.

As the days, months and years went on, Cirrus found himself working more and more with Andesine. And the more he worked with him, the more he soon realized a strange feeling he had for his clan leader. He confronted his closest friends with it and they snickered and shook their heads, declaring that he had a dragon crush on Andesine! He shook his head in disbelief. There was no way he could like another dragon after Echo, but the more he worked with the Clan leader, the more he came to realize that they were right. He, in fact, had a dragon crush on Andesine. Laughing to himself, he told Carnevale and Ketea to never tell him, nor bring it up to any other dragon. They agreed and he was content with this dragon crush. Life in the clan seemed to run more smoothly as Dragons came and went, some staying, some leaving. He was always the first one to greet them and the first one to say goodbye. He would wake up early in the morning with a smile on his face and begin making his rounds to each Dragon to say good morning. When the evening would come, he would find his curiosity take over and that was usually when he was making dragons laugh by playing pranks and tricks.

Cirrus kept up the happiness as he helped Carnevale and Andesine keep the clan alive. Cirrus still looks to the sky, hoping to see Echo flying back to him and their family, but he knew that things would be okay in the end.
