Mysterious in origin, Black Terror literally floated into Bloodrot. Lazy, they didn't bother leaving and is now a permanent fixture of the Sparking Oasis's lake. Virginia doesn't like her, finding her unnerving.

Black Terror is based on the "ship" of the same name, and one of history’s funniest hoaxes. She was made by Union Rear Admiral David Dixon Porter in 1862 out of scrap wood, canvas, and an old flatboat that cost approximately $9— $189 in today’s money. She was 300 ft long, and had a skull-and-crossbones flag to make her look like the ironclad USS Lafayette. On February 25th at 11:00pm, she was released down the Mississippi River towards the USS Indianola, which was partially sunk after being captured by the Confederacy. Indianola would be easy for the Confederates to raise out of the water and repair, hence the need to stop her from being salvaged. Black Terror made it passed Vicksburg defenses with little damage and approached the Indianola.

She was spotted by the Confederates who, believing her to be a real ironclad, panicked. CSS Queen of the West— who had previously been captured by the Confederacy— and CSS Webb fled the scene. In order to stop the Union from reclaiming Indianola, they detonated explosives on her, sinking her for good. Black Terror continued to float down the river for two miles without attacking, confusing the Confederates. The next morning, a group of Confederates decided to investigate Black Terror. They quickly realized that she was a fake and they had been tricked into abandoning their efforts to salvage Indianola.
