Amphibious Wing
Pecan is raised by a pair of mercenaries. Although she quickly learns to fight, she just as quickly grows tired of only ever being hired as a second choice to her parents. Seeking an employer who will see her as she is, she meets Cashew by happenstance. He agrees to hire her as a guard quickly, but it isn't until they've been on the road together for several months that they learn how similar their situations really are. Pecan learns over time to double as a weapons and armor specialist, appraising such items with an experienced eye that Cashew himself lacks. Finally feeling appreciated, Pecan settles happily into her new routine.
