Bhekgau are treasure hoarders and clever tricksters. They use their wit to make deals and promises with mortal creatures who cannot possibly repay their favor. Their deals are soul-binding, thus rendering their victim helpless to stop them from collecting their debt, leaving the unfortunate participant broke and destitute.

These creatures are obsessed with wealth and power, some going so far as to convince entire villages to worship them like the Deities. This ensures a constant flow of riches. However, because of their nature they are often hunted for their hoards. The lucky can trick their pursuers into a deal, the less fortunate may lose everything...

While many play their wicked games alone, it is not uncommon to see pairs enacting their scams together, Nimrook and Astor are one such pair. Both are on the run from a clan they swindled out of fortune and sacred artifacts and are now hiding out within the Crypt. We keep a close eye on them, their tricks don't work on the other tenants, but they have not been here long enough to earn our trust.

These creatures in general are still very mysterious, they do not share much with other species. Hopefully I can get the two who have joined us to open up a little.

Bhekgau are attracted to the finer things in life and can often be seen wearing luxurious silks and golden jewelry.

They primarily prey on the rich, naive, selfish, and greedy. Those who hoard treasure while others live in squalor. Not necessarily a bad thing, until you acknowledge they they are doing it to fill their own hoards.

Bhekgau usually prefer flight over fight, but the elders -- with hoards large enough to fill mountains -- they will do everything in their power to protect their possessions.

All Bhekgau have extremely powerful magical abilities. It can be terrifying to witness one go into a rage, while not common, they have been known to level villages in their anger.

Fights between Bhekgau, however, are very common and often deadly. They usually happen between the young, with small hoards, and the old, who's hoards are more than tempting.
