Despite their difference in class status, Taote fell in love with the beautiful princess Heralia. As the keeper of the royal aviary in their former clan, Taote kept watch over the elegant royal peacocks and serene love birds that Heralia so loved. The time they spent together fostered a strong friendship, and then a deep and abiding love. However, due to his low status, their love was kept a complete secret from everyone. When Heralia's parents abdicated the throne in order to follow Lightweaver, Heralia and Taote took advantage of the chaos to run away together and elope. They eventually found their way to Clan Aubade and have remained here peacefully ever since.
