Daybreak

May the mountains echo with your roar in the dark of night,
May the silent hills and the depths of glades shelter you as you sleep,
As the rising sun bathe the world in their splendor,
may it look fondly upon you and your kin.

So did the dragons that behold the birth of Daybreak sang to him. But not all blessings comes true at the exact moment they were uttered. Brought away to a faraway coliseum at a tender age, he fought for the glory and enjoyment of those who spectate above him, helpless despite his physical might. Yet on one particular, mundane day, he snapped his chains and broke away into the night. So indeed did the forests protect him as he fled, their shadowy undergrowth covering over his golden tail and wings. As he journeyed far and wide, he settled down with a rag-tag group of dragons in the frozen tundra of the Southern Icefield. Despite the harshness of survival in the freezing cold, the rising sun did indeed protect them each morning, blessing them with plentiful harvests of fish and other products of the land.

Listen, can you hear that roar? Legends have it, Daybreak of the Shattered Dawn still watches over his clan on top of the mountains with the stars to guide his sight, bring forth prosperity each day with the gleaming of dawn.
