JACK'S LOVES

____There were many loves in Jack's life. Some lasting and deep, others... well, fleeing emotions call them. There was Starlight, his first mate, not in a ship hierarchy sense, but rather in clan sense, a gilded Imperial. Elva, a Nocturne scout, though she had a mate of her own, Destiny II, though she wasn't destined to stay with Jack after all. Halloween, a Mirror. Ritual, the last one to be with Jack before he found himself in Port Aponia, where he met Psalm.

____She rarely left the Prophets' Cavern, when she did she tried to do so after dusk, without the risk of seeing too many dragons on her way. Being a newcomer, Jack didn't really know that about her and he did interrupt her nightly escapades, trying to be friendly. His boldness and, well, seeing her for just a dragon, not a Holy Maiden amused her. Soon, her lonely escapades turned to a series of rendezvous. It didn't take long for word to get out to town, of course. It's not like the two minded at the time.

____While Jack is happy with Psalm, he doesn't believe this will last forever. None of his loves ever did. Though clutch after clutch of eggs, reality seems to point in another way, deep down Jack feels it's a matter of months, maybe years, hopefully, that he'll find himself sailing again, leaving Port Aponia and the Holy Maiden behind. It might be for the best if that's how things end...

____Jack met Ara on one of his sea voyages. She claimed to be the captain of the most fearsome Raptorik fleet, commanding both the skies above Sornieth and the waters of the Sea of Thousand Currents.... well, that was before, at least. Stuff happens, after all! A ship splits from the fleet here, another sinks there, there was a mutiny... well, now Ara relies on Jack to get wind back in sails and wings! Well, maybe after *one more* of Sam's delicious cocktais.....
