Biography

Talemena
Coastal Oceanographer

Shell-Dwelling Cichlid
Murkbottom Kelp
Every spring, Talemena watches a beach form on the southwestern corner of the Sea of a Thousand Currents. The gentle and slow waves pick up sand from sandbars clogging the ocean plains just offshore, and pushes it up to form pristine cream-colored beaches. By summer the beach is at its peak, and the wind and fire flight clans nearby visit often. By fall the beach is fading. Stronger storms wear it away, and the merry streams carrying silt from the Windswept Plateau can no longer bring enough sand to maintain the beach. It dissolves, sending the sediment down into the abyssal trench not far away. Thus the cliffs drop directly to the sea.

And every year, Larunise sends her several letters about how thin and sad the beach is getting, don't you think we could get some sand from somewhere, freshen it up a bit, it's just that I get so used to dropping things out the cliffside windows and being able to pick them up later...
