Biography
_____ |
A lantern flickered in the small town of Hulmoor, and then another--there, another. Past them all, a young Wildclaw treaded. He stepped lightly, but it didn't stop his talons from digging into the earth. In spite of his unusual appearance, his narrow snout, the soft pads of his paws, Kitsunebi was still very much a Wildclaw. A strange one, but still. Wherever he went, flames seemed to bow to him, and he hadn't the foggiest idea why. Kitsunebi was confused. This town felt the spray of the ocean. The scent of salt was in the air. Everyone seemed to know everyone, and to that end he was not just a stranger, but an outsider. It left him skulking in the night, unsure of where to go, of who to speak to. There were cabins everywhere, but none willing to open their doors to a dazed, foxlike Wildclaw. Threads of the past caught around him like smoke and wisped away. He knew nothing, save for where he was and the dragons he had met. There was a certain amount of pity for him, and so Kitsunebi was getting enough food to keep himself from going hungry, and the caves of Hulmoor made decent shelter from the rain and wind. Dragons started to talk about him. It was all part curiosity, part concern. He was almost like a ghost, creeping through the night to weave between every lantern, and his pale fur was cast orange in the light. Some thought, perhaps, he was a sign of bad luck. The tides were rising higher and higher, crashing against the cliffs with unusual vigor. Others insisted he was only lost. Still. He preferred the openness of the streets above the ground, and he liked to watch the lanterns dotting either side of them with slitted eyes. There was something fascinating about the flame. | ___ |
