B I O G R A P H Y

Smokey was a cheeky boy from the very beginning. Having been in a litter of roughly seven to eight other kittens, he always fought. I found him one day, he caught my eye and since then. That day. I loved him forever. He would grow up to be the most loving, athletic, playful and sleepy cat I would have the pleasure of owning and meeting. He stole my heart from everyone. Smokey knew how to behave in a cheeky manor, making me laugh when sad or smile when mad. I loved his voice, he would just chat with me, always. He loved to argue every now and then though. My little Mocha-Chai had a secret trick, he would, always, whenever he looked at me, he would wink. It was his special thing. He loved doing it.

At home, Smokey settled in quite quickly to be honest. He pranced around the house like he knew everything. He was a little bit up him self when he was younger, yet he was selfless. I learnt his favourite way to be held, but he only liked it from me. Smokey didn't ever, never ever, let anyone else hold him the way I held him. He made sure of it. Doing everyday house things brought him around, he followed me everywhere, I taught him a few bad habits though. I thumped around the house, and so, his little patters turned into those heavy thumps you could hear from downstairs. He never once let me down, being the gorgeous boy he was. He only ever let me sleep in my bed with him once, the first night we brought him home. I tried on many occasions to re-create it. He wouldn't have a bar of it.

Smokey had a sister, Tigger, my sister's cat. he loved her like they were of the same blood. They talked, they understood each other. Smokey communicated for Tigger, it was hard for her to hear, being deaf and mute and all.. He never let that stop her from doing things she loved. During birthday's they would attack the shiny decorations, a devilish duo they were. On days we had panic attacks, days we thought they escaped, were the days we realised Smokey could open doors. Yep, but he had two ways.. He would try to get high up to reach the handle and try a little twist or stick is paw underneath and pull or push it. It worked. He was extremely smart that cat. They would sit on the doonas in the cupboard, or the blankets three, sometimes even four shelves up from the floor. I learned then, Smokey would be a parkour cat, that he loved the challenge and the height. He knew I knew he would be a little trouble maker
