Biography
Meinette's leaf-green wings twitched back. His grey head cocked to the side, golden eyes narrowing slightly in thought. He gently stretched out the Fae hatchling's wing to see it better, adjusting the lamp. She squeaked and wiggled, more in curiosity and playfulness than any discomfort. He checked his notes again - he was sure that he was right about her having Phthalo Laced, and her wings looked a lot like Violet. Basic or Stripes though, that was the question. She evidently did not have Stained for a tertiary, as that would have made the brighter accents of her primary dulled more. That was always a small blessing - Stained could make it far more difficult to determine colours. She decidedly had Basic for her tertiary, then. He wrote that down, then went back to considering her wings. There was a definite darker lined cast toward the bottom half of her wings - it had to be Stripes. After checking twice more to make sure he had everything correct, Meinette nodded and turned to her parents, carefully setting her back in the nest with her sister.
"She has Phthalo Laced and Violet Stripes. I cannot tell what her tertiary colour is, though, since there is no tertiary gene present. Her younger sister possesses Robin Laced, Violet Basic, and like her sister lacks a tertiary gene."
The mother, Bucket, nodded. Her name was slightly unusual, but then, she wasn't from the clan and he wasn't one to judge. Her dark frills flicking up, she responded in the monotone universal to Faes.
"Thank you for your time, Meinette. Is there anything we can do to return the favor?"
Meinette smiled slightly.
"Oh, no, madam, it is more than enough for me to know that I've been a help. A good day to you both, and good health to your hatchlings!"
He turned and, walking far enough away to not catch any of them in the draft, spread his wings and flew away.
